Position: Meros Africa Coordinator  

Goal: Maintain and strengthen the Meros Africa Network 

Timeframe: June – December 2026 with option to extend 

Compensation: $800/month 

About the Meros Center: 

The Meros Center is a Confessional Evangelical Lutheran ministry focused on supporting Christian Health Ministries with research and training.  Our mission is to Serve as a global community to measure and grow impact in Christian health ministry.  Our vision is to be a global network of Christian ministries and researchers applying evidence and training to create new mission models that connect people to Jesus’ love. 

About the Position: 

We are seeking a paid contractor position starting in June 2026 that will maintain and strengthen the Meros Africa Network.  The coordinator would be required to work at the Meros Africa office in Lusaka, Zambia and would be responsible for weekly and monthly tasks, with potential travel to support in-person training events. 

Position Deliverables/Activities: 

  • Support Meros Center research projects and training activities within Africa  
  • Review and make recommendations for any Meros Center research or training proposals to be accomplished within Africa 
  • Coordinate getting updates from research teams working within Africa and provide updates 
  • Draft Meros Africa partner messages with relevant resources 
  • Develop an annual plan and budget needed to support the Meros Africa Network 
  • Maintain a current, consolidated list of Meros Africa organizational partners, scholars, and research assistants, as well as any conferences and events relevant to Christian Health Ministries within Africa 
  • Ensure the Meros Africa website is current and up-to-date 
  • Able to physically work at Meros Africa offices located in Lusaka, Zambia 
  • Able to travel internationally, as funding is available 

Position Requirements: 

  • A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree (preferred) in public health or another health-related field (eg. nursing, medicine) 
  • Experience volunteering in a church or faith-based community setting 
  • Experience working cross-culturally 
  • At least one year of experience working with a community-focused non-government organization 
  • Alignment with our statement of faith is required; a member in good standing of a Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Conference church (eg. Lutheran Church of Central Africa) is preferred 

Experience participating in community-based research studies and with teaching or organizing training programs is preferred
