How It Works
Training
Meros provides online interdisciplinary, professional certificates through Wisconsin Lutheran College. The certificates prepare leaders in community health, development, and global missions. The certificate programs fill a gap in community engagement, health ministry, and research training, providing a pathway for students, staff, and church leaders to apply and measure their learning in Kingdom work.
Research
Meros supports Christian community health organizations in conducting research on issues relevant to expanding the evidence around community health ministry. Meros supports a research collaborative for Christian health researchers, faculty, and students with organizations and projects that have a mutual interest in a community health ministry topic or issue. Research collaborations include faculty and students from Christian colleges, universities, and seminaries located around the world that desire to work within a biblical worldview.
The unique aspect of the Center will be the placement of the organization or local church at the front of the research question and the application of its results. The research will lead to field-based innovation labs that foster cross-cultural learning and collaboration. The vision is to establish strategies that are applicable to multiple cultures, settings, and conditions to seek and serve as many as possible. Resources, strategies, and data will be publicly available through the Meros website to increase the translation of research into practice.
