A research and training community for Christian health ministry

What does it Mean to Make an Impact?

When you hear "make an impact" what do you think it means?  If a phrase is overused it can sometimes become watered down, but it is a core competency of The Meros Center.  Together, our ministry fills in the gaps and equips partner organizations with expertise, tools, and informed discovery to increase the effectiveness of their ministry.  The Meros Center multiples impact.

Impact Examples
We completed a Moral Injury research study which identified the underlying factors of moral injury among medical missionaries--with the aim of preventing burnout and increasing the long-term impact of healthcare missions.  Since then, the findings have been shared with over 900 missionaries and Christian leaders at various conferences and retreats through different organizations including MedSend, Christian Medical and Dental Association, and Alongside.  Explore the details about our Moral Injury Assessment Tool.

We helped to publish the outcomes of a disability ministry in Malawi in a medical journal, which highlighted the impact of spiritual care for persons with disability on the overall community.  In the first month the article has been viewed more than 400 times and shared with other disability ministries around the world.  You can find the article here: https://doi.org/10.15566/cjgh.v12i1.331

The process of collaboration itself can even have an impact.  As one organization partner said: "Working with Meros has transformed our ministry. They’ve provided crucial insights into our program and participants, helping us move from a lack of focus—trying to be too many things to too many people—to a clear, mission-driven approach. Before Meros, we didn’t fully understand those we serve or how they perceived our work. Their team brought expertise, administrative support, and research skills we couldn’t afford to hire. Because of their guidance, we now have the data we need to understand both ourselves and those we serve. As a result, our program is stronger and better equipped to do God’s work." (Resilient Recovery)

You are part of our ministry and impact.  Our team, partners and the people me serve are grateful for your ministry support.

New Course!  Community Research Basics

When academic researchers are studying a topic in the community, it is critical community members be involved in the work in order to have an accurate understanding of the topic and find meaningful solutions.  This training program was developed for community leaders, health ministry practitioners, health professionals, church leaders, non-profit workers, and others who desire to learn more about the research process and to be effective research teammates.  This online, self-study program is taught from a Christian Biblical worldview and integrates themes of teamwork and community advocacy throughout the lessons.
